Replication involves the complete copying of the entire gene in a cell.
Replication must occur before mitosis can take place. Mitosis is the type of nuclear division that allows for genetic stability since the nuclei produced are identical to
each other and the parent cell.
Therefore replication is important because it allows for mitosis to take place which maintains genetic stability.
Failure of replication of DNA results in genetic mutation which does not maintain genetic stabilty
