The null hypothesis is the hypothesis that states there is no significant difference between the observed and expected result

If the chi squared value obtained falls under the 0.05 value or larger (eg 0.10, 0.25....0.99) the value obtained is not significant so you accept the hypothesis.
If the chi squared value falls under a value less than the 0.05 value (eg. 0.01) the value obtained is significant so the hypothesis is rejected.
